Common questions
Someone is asking me for money before I have seen the place
Do not send it. Rove never handles payments, so nobody legitimate will ask you to pay through us, and no deposit should be paid to someone you have not met at the property. Report the listing in the app, or email us and we will look at it the same day.
How do I report a listing or a lister?
Open the listing or the lister’s profile in the app and use the Report button at the bottom. Reports go straight to us, and the person you reported is never told who reported them. If you cannot open the app, email us with a link to the listing.
I do not want to see a particular lister’s homes
On their profile in the app, tap "Hide these homes from me". Their listings disappear from your search, the map, your home screen and your saved list. It is private, they are not told, and you can undo it from Profile → Hidden listers.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Delete account, at the bottom. It deletes your account and your information straight away. You do not need to email us or ask permission.
I posted a listing and it is not showing
Every listing is checked by a person before students can see it, which is usually quick but not instant. The same applies after a significant edit — changing the price or the photos sends it back for another look. If it has been more than a day, email us.
A listing is wrong, or the place is already taken
Tell us and we will take it down. If it is yours, you can edit or pause it yourself from the Listings tab.
What does the Verified badge mean?
Someone from Rove went to the property in person on the date shown. It is not a guarantee about the landlord or the contract, and most listings on Rove are approved but not verified — that is normal. Verification is not for sale.
Where does Rove cover?
Hamra and Ras Beirut, around AUB and LAU. That is deliberate — we would rather know one neighbourhood properly than half-know the city.
